Prepositions
How important are prepositions you say? Have you ever tried describing your room without prepositions? It would be a pretty bland description. Prepositions show the relationships between words. You could say they are the matchmaker even. Prepositions tell us about time and space. Oh, and by the way, it even has the word position in the word itself. Bottom-line, if all else fails and you can't remember what a preposition is, it is any position you can be in relation to a CLOUD.

On, at, in, we have so many different words to describe where an object is in English.
In Spanish, those prepositions are all replaced by a single word: en
So why is learning English so hard for people learning it as a second language? Our language goes above and beyond (both of those are prepositions, by the way) to try and explain the relationships between words. However, other languages in their creation decided it was not necessary. So, if you think that something sounds a little off when someone has an accent from another country, it is probably because they use their prepositions differently!
